Another h22 swap: things i should look for?
Hey luders. I recently got a kick *** deal for a h22 for $500. The guy had it for a year, bought it from hmotorsonline (no proof ), dropped it by black trax (reputable shop). 5 months ago, the car got hitted pretty bad, and it has been sitting on the driveway since then. He said he's applying for donation for the car. This H22 has around 60k - 70k mileage, new clucth, m2b4 tranny which means LSD!!
If I do the swap by myself, is there anything I should look for? like legality, papers, smog, compression test, anything else? And he needs my F22 cuz he needs it in the car in order to donate it. I need to do this carefully, and my budget is tight. I don't think I can bring it to a shop.
Thanks guys

Have you ever heard the saying - ''If it sounds too good to be true then it prolly is!''
NO ONE would ever sell that motor for that price! Even the tranny alone is worth almost twice that amount!

Yea, I understand that, thatz why I ask for your expertises. And notice he wants my motor too.
I know it does sound fishy. All the motors from hmotorsonline.com are claiming to have around 35K, but this one has 60 - 70K, and he only owns it for a yr.
However, if I remember it right, there were some other members who had found a h22 for that price and swapped it in by himself.

Swapping it yourself isn't all that hard. The wiring can get a little confusing if you have never had to do it before!
The milage he is stating doesn't matter either! Any imported motor from Japan or whatever there is no way to know its true milage without buying a complete clip.
The 60k don't bother me either, its simply the price.
The Longblock would easily sell for 1k and the tranny easily $700.
Why only $500 for both?
