Default Is this a good buy?

I found a 98 prelude base with 67K miles for $9500. It's black, cloth seats, OEM lip kit and spoiler, and everything is all STOCK, garaged kept!! The guy is the fist owner of the car and he has full mainence records. From the looks of it he took great car of this car. I think I can get him to sell it for $9,000 or do you guys think I should go lower?

I am new with the Preludes so are there any problems or anything I should look or check for? What should I need to know about these preludes? Do they hold there value pretty well?

Are there any other differences bewteen the 97-98 and the 99-01 except for the 5HP? And why is there an extra 5 hp?

kind of expensive for a 98, even if it's got low miles, but all stock is good.

it's a 5 speed right?

there aren't any major problems w/ the 5 speeds. Go through all the gears and make sure there are no grinds, and when you test drive it, womp on it from a roll and see if there's hesitation. Check to see if it's leaking oil/burning oil by checking the bumper for soot and peeping the dipstick, though if he's smart he's changed the oil recently.

other than that, use general rules for buying a car, imo.

I would offer him 8K - just because of its age!

Different pattern on the seats. and grill and the 99-01 headlight housing is a lil more smoked then the 97-98. all i can think of right now.
