HONDA CIVIC EX COLD AIR INTAKE QUESTION
My girlfriend has a 95 honda civic ex. She ordered a cold air intake off ebay and it got here yesterday. I have never put any intakes on except a short ram. I got to her house and I am clueless lol. There is a hole over on the left side. Does the pipe go down in the hole and then the filter doen by the fender? I am just lost on what to do. It came with 2 pieces. One is long and the other is like 6 or 7 inches long. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
its not rocket science. Just look at the bends, what will work fromt he throttle body to the opening? I hope you know how to remove the bumper to remove the lower resonator
First of all, I don't know much about this stuff, so don't freakin act like I should. I wouldn't be asking if I did. What we ended up doing was just using the long piece. and not even using the shorter one. No, I don't know how to do what u said I should. Could u try to explain somewhat.
That one piece should be attached to the throttle body. The other piece goes down into the bumper through the hole on the left. I think you can just remove the fender liner remove the lower res., and replace it with the lower pipe, then you should be able to stick on the filter.
Correct me if I'm wrong though.

just take out the old factory intake box. then take out all the bolts that are in a straight line directley in front of the radiator and then get on the ground take off about 3 screws on the wheel well on both sides, and thats takes the front bumper off. Then on the right side of the car where the cold air filter will be placed there is a usually white piece of plastic that is a part of the factory intake system, its kind of a bitch to get out, just yank, hack blah blah do what you have to do to get it out just dont damage anything else while you're down there. after you get that out of the way, the long piece of pipe goes onto the throttle body, you'll have to figure out which way it goes, but it should line up with the whole where the resonator was. the small piece actually goes through the whole and should maybe bend alittle and the filter is put on there.
and since you dont know much about this kind of thing. alittle advice, stay away from ebay products, if you dont know much about them. and if you drive in the rain often you may want to buy a bypass valve so you dont suck up too much moisture, i think it cuts alittle on horsepower, but it'll save your *** down the road.
Yea, she already has the bypass valve. She didnt pay much for the intake so she was wondering if she could just keep it like it is. I have the long piece on it and then the filter on that. The filter is sitting right above the hole. Will it be ok to leave it like that? The reason she got one is because she just got the car and it didnt have an intake on it at all. Thanks for the help.
