Default what could this be!!!!! stop light, **** load of blue smoke!!!!(oil)

hey so i have this 93 civic, jdm head, i/h/e and fluidyne radiator, more minor **** but dont feel likeisting it

so anyways, ive had his rear main seal leak for about 2 months, then i went to add some oil today, overloaed a lil, so i was driving, i need more time in a ******* day im too rushed, and but 6 miles? or so? my car just fills up with blue smoke i mean like i was blinding other drivers and almost caused an accident, so i parked over the side of the road waited for my dad etc, so we start it to get it to a safe place, its continupusly burning oil

my dad said check the head gasket, i sadi it might be the rings or the valve guides whos right? any other suggestipns?
ps its bout 7 miles from my hous right now, im going to do a compression test once it gets towed over here

any thing else?

but how much more oil did you put? even if it's a quart over, it wouldn't damage it that bad...</TD></TR></TABLE>

but if its 2-3 quarts over it can be bad, real bad. but HG is my first guess

Well if you guess headgasket, check for syptoms, losing coolant, conbustion gasses in the overflow tank, over heating.

and also, pull the crankcase vent line (the line from the valve cover to the intake) and see if smoke comes out of the. If it does, oil rings are shot.

the breahter is doing more damage then it is looking cool. How is your crank case suppose to vent?

do you mean out of the front of the block/head or like from under the hood?

if its coming out from under the hood its coming out that breather filter. It could be rings, valve seal or scored cylinder walls that would creat excessive blow by

The loss of compression looks almost even across the board, I would guess head gasket but you said it looks fine.

If it's not head gasket it's definitely rings

Smoke from the breather does not mean rings. It could just as easily be valvestem seals.

I would replace the seals first, since they are only 4 bucks each. If it still burns oil, do the rings.

Involves taking the pistons out, which means the whole bottom end apart, and itd be very wise to hone the cylinders or even bore over. You wont be able to do all the work yourself. You could strip the bottom end though, get you pistons and rings, and bearing kit, take ti to a shop and have them do the rest.

Valve stem seals......at idle it leaves room for oil to get passed.

impact gun, no extensions, just the socket right to the bolt with nothing inbetween. Works everytime for me.
