Default best wheel and tire combo for downhill curves?

im just curious on some thoughts about my 89 DX 1.5 hatch because i only like doing downhill mountain passes/very curvy roads.i just dropped my 13" stock steelies and got some 205/55/15 my engine is basically stock so i may have 100HP if im lucky but i have decent suspention.i havnt tryed them yet but i think they may be too wide for the car.

The correct size for 15's is 205/50/15 and 195/55/15. And it shouldn't depend on the tires and wheels, but the brakes if it is downhill....It also sounds like public roads

Anyone that does "downhills", "mountain runs" or general stupidy on the street will die or kill someone. Hopefully whoever they kill is there relative so it all stays in the family and does not hurt others.

your sig is funny, anyway, just buy a tire with sticky compound, slap it on your steelies, and call it a day

thats a good idea ,thanks but im in germany and i will need my all seasons in a couple of monthes because it snows like crazy here and i bought some 15" for 40$ and they are lighter then the steelies plus i need the wider wheels for Nurburgring when i go there so i dont slide off the track.it hasnt happened yet but when i put a friend of mine's bwm wheels on my car i was able to fly around turns there

He's in Germany. I don't he has the same D15. I could be wrong though.

Either way, keep it on track

It's the same d15b2, 92chp and who knows what at the wheels. EDM DXs used the d15b2 with dpfi in EGs, also.

a lower profile tire/rim combo would help some, other than that some sticker tires and a good suspension setup. have fun on those hill curves, but watch out for gravel, its a bitch....

gravel sure is a bitch, I crashed into a rock the size of my crx 'cuz the tires lost it going over gravel, all I wanted to do was take a turn anyway, it was a 5 mph impact though, after skidding off the road when I hit gravel, I went into dirt/gravel mix that slowed me down considerably before crashing into the rock, only damage the car got was a scraped up bumper, this was a long time ago, so watch out for that, which there is alot of in hilly road, why, I do not know
