Why doesn't my CRX Si have door mounted seat belts?
I'm just curious why my 91 Si doesn't have door mounted belts... Every other Si I have seen has them. I'm not complaining or anything, I hate door mounted seat belts but I'm just curious. Also, what CRX's had back seats? Just some things I was woundering... Thanks
hmm you might want to check your title. 88-89 had belts mounted on the frame and 90-91 si's had them on the door. If yours arn't on the door its not a 91. also 90-91 had 4 -wheel disc, you might want to check that.
Only japanese crx's had back seats, but will fit usdm ones

Well I have an 89 and my belts are mounted on the door. Suposedly 88 is the only year with non-door mounted belts. Oh and ditto about the back seats, i think thats just a jdm thing.

I think that half of hte 89's have door mounted seat belts. It depends on when it was built and the passive restraint system law went in to effect. I know that not all 89's were one way or the other. All 88's though had the pillar mounted belts, and 90-91's were door mounted.

Contradiction?
um, as far as i understood, canada did NOT have the DOOR mounted seat belts.
they had CHASSIS mounted seat belts throughout the years. like USDM 88 cars.
not sure if there was any mixing in inventory across borders.
could another Canadian add their input?

My understanding is that only US-spec cars had door-mounted seat belts. And the 88 cars did not--nor did all (or most?) of the 89 HFs.
So the answer to the first question would be "Because you have a Canadian-spec car."
The answer to the second question is, "JDM and EDM CRXes had back seats. None of the North-American cars had them." But they're not real seats, they're just there so the CRX didn't get taxed quite so hard.
If you want a back seat you can actually put any people in (kids or otherwise), get a Civic Hatch. It's basically a CRX with a back-seat. Or the CRX is basically a Civic Hatch without a back seat, depending on how you look at it.

Heh. I actually haven't been on the Resource in something like a year. For reasons that do not need to be gone into here.

Funny, I traded my Civic 99 four door ( I was still makin payments on) for my old 88 lide si, and a 91 crx si. I need back seat! lol I have two lil girls, and they would fit perfectly back there, or so I think, till i can sell the lude and get an integra, lol sorry, I'm ramling now, and My crx has four disc brakes and door mounted seatbelts.
i have a 91 dx hatch and it has door mounted sit belts. but it's possible it was built in canada and ship to the dealer. i live a hour away from monretal in upstate new york.
