Wondering if a chip in a fried ECU is bad if the ecu wen't bad because of a short...
basically the title says it all, whats your opinion? No visible damage near the chip or anything...? anyone?
cut J1 in the ECU. if everything works fine it's the chip.
BTW, you need to at least give us some idea of what you are talking about. what setup, what ECU, what chip, what program in the chip, what symptoms.

Alright I had anightmare electrical problem pinpointing spree, my alternator plug grounded out on a metal tube and caused a short int he system blowing the 80amp battery fuse and frying the ecu... THe chip was a blank chip correctly tuned on a dyno... In an obd1 ecu... I put the stock obd2 ecu back in and the car started up, so it had to be the ecu's fried, or is it the chip, which I doubt? I'm looking for another obd1 ecu as of now.... any of this help, excuse my typing
