heatshield rattle? driving me crazy!
my crx is lowered and theres a rattle in the back when i'm around 2500-3k. Some people have said its the heatshield, where exactly is that? and how can i fix it?
its a metal shield between the bottom of your car and the exhaust pipe, basicall runs down the middle of your car, has about ten 10mm bolts holding it in, take it out.
Park on Grass???
I'm assuming you did your swap barefooted and with out a shirt as well???
Could be a number of things like the cat or something in the exhaust. Best to have a muffler shop check it out.

No, crxtreme, the heat shield is between your floor board, and the exhaust piping/muffler. So without it, you would be no more inclined to start your lawn on fire than with it on..
Personally, I would try to find where it rattling back there first, and see if you can just bend the heatshield back or something like that, instead of removing it altogether. Maybe it's not a big deal on CRXs, but if you remove that **** on a modified rotary car, you're likely to melt your carpeting.

I was referring to the heatshield on the bottom of the converter. I haven't seen a fire start from a converter yet- but if you were running way rich and it got red hot I would worry. Take off and clamp what you can-
