Car won't go into gear after 7k rpm..wtf!
When I launch and try to shift from 1-->2 after 6500 rpm the car won't go into gear. But when I drive normally it goes into gear no problem. Do I need a new clutch? I have a knife edged crank with 8lb flywheel connected to a 2000 B16 tranny. My clutch is a 6 puck non sprung Kevlar clutch that has been on for maybe 25-30k miles. Is it the clutch? Shortshifter? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance
well I never have to shift that high anyway, 7k on d16z6 is probably impssible. but on a B-series thats still pretty high to shift into.
I've seen exedy ceramics get torn up in less than 15k. Hard, hard driving though.
Yeah, i just talked with my boss, one kid had an exedy ceramic in his LSvtec, it lasted less than 3 months.

its possible that since you have the lightned crank and fly, that you cars rpms drop too much between shifts that the syncros cant mesh between those gears.
Maybe try not letting off the gas completely to keep the revs up a little and then try changing gears.
