Default Exedy stage 1 clutch

I've heard nothing but good things from the exedy stage 1 clutch so I just want to make sure these are it. This is the best deal I found but it doesn't say stage 1 but it has to be the stage 1 people are talking about right? Yeah it's should be obvious but I don't want to buy something I'm dont want.

Oh and if you guys have info on the stage 2 let me know if it's DDable please. This guys selling one local and if it wont drive me crazy then I'll buy it.

here's the link:

Why not just get it from Ebay for a hell of a lot cheaper?

I too have an Excedy stage 1 clutch and it's great, still catch's great. It's the same thing as the OEM clutch too however and many don't know that. Again
Exedy Stage 1 = OEM Clutch

i would go with ebay. i bought a stage one off ebay and it came with a fidanza lightweight flywheel as well for a final price of 290 canadian with shipping. thats your best deal. feels better then stock with the flywheel as well. you get a free flywheel where can you go wrong?

Not quite. Exedy makes an OEM clutch that can be had for about $130. The stage 1 has a little higher torque capacity.

That is an OEM replacement, but it looks like you scored with the flywheel in the package.

I honestly don't see why people get the Stage 1. An OEM Exedy will hold most bolt-ons.

I just got a stage one for the fact that you know it's not going to slip....plus they offer a lightweight stage 1 disc.

I'm going to need a new clutch sometime soon, my OEM clutch is going out. Do you guys think i should upgrade to a stage 2 clutch, or is stage 1 going to do the job?

From what I heard the stage 2 is a little to harsh for a true DD if your a person that wants a lot of comfort.

Now that I think of it, I'm just going to keep the oem replacement. You know everyone has big dream of making lots of power but in reality I cannot afford to have my car have problems with a turbo setup. Maybe if it was my weekend worrior but it's a true DD and I'm already feeling the affects of not being able to drive it for 2 weeks.

When I get the clutch I'll just slap it on. Maybe I don't even need the flywheel? What do you guys think, keep the flywheel. Heard your RPM drops super fast with a lightened flywheel.

you guys think I should bother using the flywheel on a pretty much stock motor? Or sell it.

if you are changing your clutch, just upgrade to stage 1 so you don't have to worry about it again, and get a fidanza flywheel... you'll be set. trust me.

I bought my clutch and flywheel off that ebay seller, he has good prices. But I think that link is the OEM replacement not the stage 1.

Yeah I know that's why I F'd up. I dont plan on making much power anyways on my car ever. Now the real question is should I even bother using the flywheel. That's a question for people who has used lighten flywheel before.

A lightened flywheel doesn't make power, only frees up power transfer. It's definately a nice investment. Helps your engine wind down faster, if you double clutch or anything. If you don't want to invest, definately turn your flywheel when replacing the clutch.

Yeah I know flywheel doesn't make power but what I'm asking is should I even bother using it or sell it. Basically my engine will slightly rev faster but the rpm will drop a little quicker too from what I heard.

It's no big deal, I just want some people feedback on a basically stock motor. I mean I bought the clutch and flywheel already. I guess I should just use both of it unless some of you guys think I should resell the kit and buy a stage 1 and flywheel. Or keep the OEM replacement and don't use the flywheel or use it.

Just need some feedback.
