there's base or type sh. Both have h22's and some have manuals

There is more to it than that.

The SH has a much more advanced suspension set-up so it handles much better. It also has a few cosmetic tweaks like a rear spoiler, painted sideskirts and rear trim, "upgraded" wheels too. I think leather is had to find as it was a dealer installed option.

My perfect prelude would be an SH with base rims and no spoiler

^^^^That's why you shouldn't get a SH, base prelude is your best bet.

after you upgrade suspension and add an LSD to the base model, the base model will beat a type-SH. i would get a 99-01 because it had a 5hp increase and will probably have less miles on it than a 97-98. and an upholstery shop can add new leather to any prelude for pretty cheap too.

if you are planning on doing osme heavy modding and would want alot of HP go with the base... it can handle more WHP compared to the SH. the SH could take up to 250WHP cause of the ATTS system...

no the base is the better bet to go as once you start making more power the atts starts ******* up...base is lighter, has more mods....and is going to be cheaper to buy

Absolutely correct. There is no need for Type SH if you don't plan to go to the tracks often. In normal street driving, we will not even notice the ATTS system in the Type SH. The base model is the one you should get, although the Type SH rim looks a little better imo.

First of all, the ATTS handles up to 250 whp which is ~100 whp more than the car puts out stock. Unless you're planning on modding the car a LOT, it doesn't matter which one you buy.

If I were you, I'd get whichever model that has the best price/best condition.

1) ATTS-active torque transfer system. As you turn, the outside front wheel spins faster to decrease understeer.(someone correct me if im wrong )

2) 5spd's might be harder to find depending where you live.
