having problems with my gauges

everytime im passing about vtec, the MPH seems to go heywire, the needle just bounces off. it doesnt do this when im driving normal, only when its redlining, it gets worst andworst as it redlines, is it because the computer is chipped?...it didn't do this when i first got the computer chipped

sorry not to jack thread but yea my dc2 sometimes act like that...from 4k and up just jump like krazi, jumps very loosely...not sure y...went to an acura mechanic...he said to drop off the car and hel start with the timing...gosh..hate it
