Default old account gone // new car deal, oppinions needed..

ok so someone decided to change my password on my last account so here is my new one..
anyway.. the point in this post is..

i have a 95 honda civic DX..
basicly stock.. home made CAI, cherry bomb muffler with tip.
very good condition..
but its automatic.

i met this guy with a 94 dx
it has a full 2 1/2 in exhaust system, cheap short ram intake, 2 inch drop and some cheap 16 inch racing wheels.. its an auto to manual conversion.
sounds good so far, but his exterior isnt as good as mine.. one side of the car is another color than the other, hood is F'd, rear bumper is black, big dents in fender..
basicly it..

he is willing to trade plus give me 1000 dollars..
does this sound like a good deal on my side??

I'd definately jump on it... fenders are like $50 each and you could get all the body work and it repainted for $1000

Why not just do the conversion yourself. If you car is in good shape and needs no body work just swap it. This way you know exactly what has been done to your car.

This seems to be a good route..

Aight, here's my opinion, and my opinion alone, what you want to do is in your hands, so I don't wanna hear pple bitch at me, it's just "what you would do" since you are asking

Aight, u have a 95 civic (one year newer), auto, no mods

he has a 94 civic, cheap and basic mods, probably half *** conversion, and the car's been through WWII (all dented up 'n ****)

I would keep the car u have for a few reasons such as you knowing the basic history of it as Manga_Spawn mentioned, the body is in good cond., and the things that would make his car better than yours to you (mods) are cheap.. manual swaps aren't expensive, seems like he's got everything rigged up nice 'n cheap (which isn't neccessarily bad). I wouldn't go on it because u don't know how fucked up the body is, u dunno the history of it, NOTHING..

Last car I had, sold w/ a bent frame...if I didn't tell the guy that, he wouldn't have known until he went to tire discount to get a 4 wheel alignment and it can't be done (caster adjustment's too far off b/c the right frame rail is bent up a bit), u can't tell worth of **** looking at tire wear (it's not off enough to really tell until u REALLY wear the tires down completely bald (and I wore 'em down bald once (to the fact that I couldn't start w/o spinning them)) and then u can see that there's a spot that's not bald and still has a bit of tread on the inside of the one of the wheels) - but hey, if I didn't tell him, long and short, he woulda never figured that **** out until they put it on a frame machine then they woulda started realizing things - but beingthe non-******* stand-up guy that I am (:-P) I told him well in advance before I sold it to him - although u can't feel it unless ur going 110 mph+ which he really shouldn't have to do, and if he does, wasn't my bent frame that caused the crash.... Aight, w/ that out of the way, u really dunno what happend to it, u really dunno if it was beat on, fucked with, u dunno what condition the clutch is in (even if it feels good could be on the verge of starting to slip if it gets run on hard)

Aight, that's all **** I wouldn't do, what I WOULD do is manual swap that **** ASAP, automatic hondas = You can go to a junkyard, here on H-T - there's a billion and one places u can get a transmission/man ECU and the other Misc. parts needed to do the conversion really cheap (and don't do one of those conversion kits, it's a lot cheaper to throw one together, do a search on it) - takes u what, 1 day? Iono, took me and my friend the morning, but then again we were in a garage...so we had all the best snap-on tools, ample jackstands/jacks, a car lift, etc. etc. so I figure one day u can have it done, the exhaust that he has, the small drop, and the headers aren't really neccessary, u can do them for ur car and if u have the stock engine they're pretty damn cheap...

Oh well, that's my .02 cents - u can PM me if u want further consultation on something more specific, I tend to rather enjoy helping people in matters such as this - good luck in whichever route you choose...

PS: if u need help with the manual swap u can drop me a PM as well
