Integra hesitates under acceleration
hey guys, there's a integra at my cousin's shop and it hesitates under hard acceleration. It dies after you let off the pedal. The mil light was on so we pulled the codes with the scanner. The codes came out as bad map sensor, replaced the map sensor with a new sensor from dealer, clear the code, start her up and still hesitates under hard acceleration. we also checked timing and it's 16 BTDC. One opinion that we're thinking is maybe the timing jumped a tooth. we could be wrong though.

checked all that. Also we checked if the cat would be clogged but it's not. As of right now, we got the valve cover off and looking it over.

I doubt it, but did you check the fuel filter? What about electrical issues, my car is still having those. Turned out the previous owner had hacked my wire harness coming into the ECU up like a butcher. so at random times it would feel like I was hitting the governor, when all it was I would move/bump the wrong way and the wires were grounding themselves out on the ECU bracket. Took it out, fixed the wires and laid the ECU on the floor. No more problems. Not saying that's where your electrical problem lies, but still could be an issue.
yeah we checked the fuel filter. We took out the filter from my integra and swapped it in. never thought about the ecu harness. Funny thing is, this car has a South Florida dealership sticker under the hood and the car has no plates yet because he bought this car from a dealership. Being said from Florida, last years hurricane and flood might have affected this car.
update, i checked the ECU harness down at the passenger kick panel and sure enough, some of the wires are chopped and and it looks like they just twisted the wires and taped it up. I don't even think they soldered it.

They didn't solder mine either, just twisted them and put a little electrical tape on there. I think they had a VAFC wired up. Let me know if that helps. Good luck bro

no, i don't think there's a VAFC hooked up. Think it was a flooded car in Florida that they brought here to cali to be resold. Under the hood it has a South Florida dealership sticker. Also when i removed the kick panel, i found some pieces of broken glass. I'm pretty sure if i removed the rear seats, it'll have rust under there.
