n00b needs help with clutch ?'s
i searched for clutch in the prelude section and it sounds like i need to bleed my clutch system... my pedal goes straight to the floor... so how exactly do i go about bleeding my clutch system?
ok so i went down to autozone and picked up some dot3 because it was really low on fluid, topped it off and just spent the last 15 min pumping the clutch with my hand, because it goes all the way to the floor and stays there, and nothing.
any insight would be helpfull

i had the same thing happen to me about a year ago. if you just noticed it doing it all of a sudden it could be either the master or slave cylinder that needs to be fixed.
it's leaked before, but i usually just put some more dot3 in the reservoir and its fine. this is the first time it's failed to recover
ok get a friend to help
1. pedal all the way up
2. open bleeder on slave cyl
3. push and hold pedal down all the way
4. close bleeder on slave cyl
5. pedal all the way up
check fluid level
If you let the fluid get to low air will get in and you start all over.
If you let the pedal up when the bleeder is open=air gets sucked in.
If you still get no pressure, check for leaks from the master cyl or slave are most common. Also check the rubber hose from the dampner assembly to the tranny hard line.

ive been doing this for the last 2 months because of a leaky slave syl.
and it only takes one person to bleed the clutch
fill a cup or bottle 1/4 the way with clean brake fluid
i normally set it on the floor where there is an opening in the plastic undersheild next to the tow hook
route a hose from the clutch slave nipple into the cup on the floor...make sure the hose is submerged
loosen the nipple (bleeder valve) on the slave
make sure you top off the res. tank
pump the clutch pedal about 4 times with your hand slowly
refill the res. tank
pump again and keep refilling the res. tank
do it a couple more times..
tighten the bleeder valve with the pedal up
and you should gain pressure
i used to do this every 3-4 days
but a new slave cyl was only 27 bucks at napa

I just did my slave cylinder and used the following bleeding procedure:
1.) Pedal down
2.) Open bleeder
3.) Close bleeder
4.) Pedal up
But if you do the slave cylinder be sure to bench bleed first, I forgot and it took me forever. Flush the line via the master and then flush the cylinder and reattach the line to the slave and then bleed.

well i bled it, went through about 3 resivoirs full of fluid, and still no pressure.
do i need to run more dot3 through or would that be enough to tell?
I traced along all of the lines looking for leakage but couldn't find any. So im thinking it's th slave cyl. because thats the only part that seemed to have fluid around it.
However when i was bleeding it i noticed that not much fluid was coming out each time i pushed the clutch pedal down, is that normal or would that be characteristic of the master cyl. going out?

On a 5th gen look at the engine bay facing the front of the car, look to the left of the heat shield on the headers and then down.
it is on top of the part of teh transmission sticking out parallel to the headers.
