Bad Engine Whine In Speakers Out Of Nowhere.
This all started yesterday (Monday) I got this horriable engine whine in my speakers out of nowhere. I did nothing different that day besides take my car to the tire shop, and I bought a Sirius radio standalone unit, I had it connected through the FM frequency.
This had happened once before out of nowhere then went away I think after i went over a speedbump. Yesterday it was fine before i went to eat then i got back in the car and the horror started. it would not go away for anything then i made a u turn and it went away then came back when i made another u turn.
I have a Pheonix Gold 800W 4 Chanel Amp about 2 mounths old, and a Pioneer Mono Block 800w for my Sub, and a 1.5farud Cap. I DO have the ground wire in the exact same place as my amp.
I checked for constanuity (when the voltmeter beeps when their is a circuit) I checked all speaker wires they were clean alone from the AMP. weird thing is even the power wire has constanuity with the ground even directly at the battery with nothing at all connected and even my friend 04 mustang gt did the same thing.
When I checked the Pheonix Gold Amp ther was constanuity on 4 of the 8 speaker connectors. and they are as followed + - + - same on both sides front and rear positive and negative have constanuity with the negative terimal on the amp.
I know this is a really involved post but I am on a dead end I worked on this for over 6 hours today and I am fustrated and have no idea what to try. should i send the amp back. Thanks everyone for your help in advance it all helps.

what kind of rca's are you using. I hope there not the 99 cent special, lol . I see you said it went away before when you hit a speed bump. So there is a problem some were, I would start and make sure your headunit is properly grounded. Also check to make sure there is no pinched rca's anywere, Since a pinch can be pinched and unpinched by a bump in the road and by making uturns. Also did anything ground out in the trunk? Ie, subs playing and the terminals coming in contact with the amp or so.
I have carpet in my trunk still, I don't think anything touched but you never know I have everything ripped out right now im going to re run every single wire and see if that helps.

u ran a ground wire directly to ur battery?

no to the same place as my amp. those noise filters did absolutely NOTHING at all. those are now tossed in the return pile. is it possiable if the head unit is not getting enough ground it could do this?
ok now this will wreck nearly anyones mind. I ran a new RCA cable outside the car from my deck to my amp. and the noise is till there. I tried with out the antenna and with and no luck. don't get my wrong the new ground wires helped ALOT. but it is still faintly there. I am about ready to just say Fuuk it and deal with it but want to see if anyone else may know. a solution to try.
also is it possiable using to small of a wire for the ground on the deck can cause the noise. i think its a 16 gauge im thinking of going to get a 10 gauge for it and see if that helps but I don't want to waste more money if that will not help.
My dad sugguested this, install a capaciator between the positive wire on the coil he said that did the trick back when he was my age on stereos in his car about 30 years ago. is there such thing anymore
Thanks everyone for helping

okay so you got fresh rca's, There one off the list. But atleast you can return those noise filters, put some chips back into the pocket. Thoses things are just a band-aid to fix a temporary problem or masked things up a bit.
What kind of headunit are you running? Is it old? And what kind of condition are they in? Also what kind of condition is your car battery in? And how old is it. I had a problem with a customer car before and it was the car battery that was bad. Sometimes a bad car battery won't filter out all of the rippels from the car altenator. I would also check there too.

Pioneer Premiere DEH-680 nearly brand new.battery was actually the fir thing I started to lean towards my friend actually has a good battery from his 05 civic he just got a bigger battery moved to his trunk. hopefully i can score a freebie there.
My battery look as if it has acid leaking out the side of it .

its not your battery...i had the exact same thing on my 95 acura legend.
at first i thought it was a bad ground (like everyone said it was..). so i removed the ground, sanded down the area and reground it...still happens...
....so i decide to sell my legend..and while i was cleaning up my trunk (with the music bumpin..) i was messing with the RCAs and noticed that it only went away when i toggled it...so i unplugged the RCAs and inspected it, everything looked good...so then i checked the connection port, or part where u plug in the RCAs, and it was loose!!..
so i pushed it in..and made sure that everything was sturdy..and it stopped happening..........but i still sold my car. haha!
so just check your connections..maybe thats it?

Vibrations can tear up a battery over a long run. Is the fluid in the battery low or is it a no maintance? nocturnal EG a bad battery could cause this, plus he has new freash rca's. Also he posted that his battery has a leak. Leak = low battery fluid. so go figure. Since the headunit is almost brand new, what is your amp bolted to? Do you have anothor amp that you could use to test your system?

I don't know much about car batteries, but I know having acid on the side is not good. I took it to autozone and it tested allright im not sure what the test did though. he said the over flow is probally from a over charge and that my battery is maintance free as far as i know its a standard battery, are maint free batteries supposed to have little eyes on them? that change color if bad or not
weird thing today, weird as expletive. I wired everything back up. and the noise was so faint it did not even matter so i cleaned everything up and drove down the street and the noise was there loud as hell even at idle I am soo fustrated at this point I am ready just to take that fuucker in.
could it be my main ground is just on a bad spot on my chassi

Some more info please...
You say the HU is a new Pioneer, how about the amp(s), and what is amped, subs, high-pass or both?
Where do you hear the noise from, sub or high-pass speakers?
It sounds to me like you may have an intermittent grounding problem in the HU or the amp(s).
Have you tried another HU, [even though its new does not mean it can't have a problem.
Also the noise you have is it alt. whine?
Only there when car running, a high pitched, whistling, siren kind of sound the changes pitch when you rev the motor a little, and gets louder as you turn on more things in the car, [lights, rear window defog, heater blower]?
How and where did you run the power and RCAs, how and where did you ground the amp, and what gauge is the power and ground?
Don't forget the amp(s) makes and models and what it/they are running.
Do you have a multimeter, or can you borrow one.
And yes, your dad was right, about the cap on the coil, [polerized 4700mf cap] but it was for ign. noise, should not be a problem on your car, [no points].

well I took a trip down to best buy today and talk to one of my buddies friends. he said since i have a pioneer deck that the ground most likely went out on it. he said the same problem happened to him. he said wrap a naked ground wire onto the negative side of the rca's and that should clear it right up. I did that and that was the ticket. I used to trust pioneer but after the problems i have had with this deck I think i may just get a alpine next time I got cash. Thanks everyone for helping
