Map sensor and EGR plates
what are the egr and map sensor blocking plates used for? i know the egr blocks the exhuast air from recirculating back into the motor. anyone know the advantages/disadvantages of these? will you still pass emissions with these things blocked off?
i'm building a h22/f22a motor and i'm droppin it into a 92 integra. i was told from someone that the egr and map sensor was a pain to deal with and to block them off with KMS plates.
egr is a pain map sensor aint a pain. its just 3 wires, plus most h22s dont have a map sensor on th TB its on the firewall. hence no map sensor bloack off plate is needed
so what, its reading the air pressure across the firewall? i know MY, MAP sensor is on top of my throttle body. wouldnt taking that off totally mess up your cars tuning? isnt that where the initial air readings are coming from to adjust the fuel curve? how could you take it out.

As long as the MAP sees the engine's vacuum it's fine. You can hook it up to a vacuum line attached to the intake manifold and it's the same thing as having it mounted onto the intake manifold. You definately can't just get rid of it...
