Default Koni and H&R Setup noise

I just recently bought koni struts and bought H&R Race Springs for my 2001 Prelude. I have a "ker Klunk" noise coming from my rear springs/shocks whenever i go over a decent size bump. Ive followed all instructions on how to install including trimming bumpstops etc. I took the suspension apart in the back again today to try and resolve the problem and no such luck. Any ideas? The front suspension is absolutley fine. Thanks guys

that's what I was thinking. The H&R Race are really short springs and they fall out of the spring seat at full extension on a regular Koni Sport.

If you took on a major bump, the shock would extend pretty far on the way down and the spring could just start to slip out of the seat. If that keeps happening, you should consider the Neuspeed Konis with the shorter shock shafts. I wish I had them in the rear with my Progress springs.

thx hxclude, well ill tell you i took the spring/shock totally apart 2 times now, so if its fell of the perch both times i would be suprised. but also i got my father and brother to sit in the back seat while i drove and it drastically reduced the noise. i dont know what you can get from that thanks.

sounds like when you go over the bump and the shock extends you are hearing the spring bounce out and back into the seat. Just a guess... put your stock spring back in and see what it sounds like then.

that will raise the car up. to change the position of the clip you need to take the whole shock assembly apart again so its just as much work as changing springs.

this is just to weed out the problem.. once we know exactly what the problem is... then you can figure out what to do from there
