alright long story short, i got a motor from osaka online. it was a jdm h22 type s motor (actually sir s spec motor with lsd tranny). i swapped it in to my 1992 honda preludeouse parts needed to get it running and had it towed to a mechanic who was going to finish wiring and everything. we found a huge *** hole in the block that was not our fault. osaka said they can't do anything about it. so we are screwed.
now i have found a 98 h22 out of an sh for 1200$. we are considering buying it then we would swap blocks after we determine the type s head is still good. my only concern is i know the sh models have ATTS and that will suposedly keep it from swapping into my car because of the cross member.
]is the atts located on the block or on the tranny? and if i get it will there be any way to remove the atts if its on the block so i can use the lsd tranny?

i would not pick up the SH engine. You will have to use the SH tranny unless you feel like fabbing a few things to get the sir tranny to fit.
and atts is on the back of the block, nothing to do with the crossmember.
and how the expletive is osaka not going to take the blame for this? Once you have the motor in your possession, you should have 30 or so days to get it installed. If there are any problems within those 30 days that you find that were not your fault, they are supposed to warranty it. Thats how Hmotors does it atleast.

ye i wish i knew too.. i had talked to someone who used them and said it all worked out great. hmm im really not sure what to do. i am thinking about getting the long block 92-96 h22 from hmotors and then just swapping out blocks, but if i do that will i have to switch the timing belt tensioners and use the manual tensioner? and i am not sure if the lsd tranny would bolt up to that. i think it should.

you dont have to do a timing conversion although its 10x easier to do with the engine out of the car and i would recommend it to anyone who has plans beyond bolt ons.
all the h22's share the same autotensioner.
its only the h23 that has the manual tensionr.
your tranny will bolt up to any H motor besides the Type S and SH

oh alright i dont know what im thinking of.... the h22 are all auto tensioner alright. now the tranny.... i dont see why it wouldnt bolt up to the type s motor when the motor i got was supposed to be a type s. is the actual type s tranny the one with atts different because it has atts? what makes it so my lsd tranny wont bolt up?
i really appreciate all ure guys help. i fell like jumping off a building right now. my motor was only wiring vtec and the ivac sensor away from being finished.

hmmm i see. so if the 98 motor my dad found is the a4 from the base model, i could use that block?
now what would u guys recomend? alright i am going to run this motor on an obd1 computer. it was an obd2 motor. we had converted all the parts to obd1. would u recomend me getting this 98 obd2 base model motor and using its block, or would it be better for me to get the 1992-1995 jdm h22a that is obd1 off hmotoronline and use that blok?
