To throw off ******** that want to steal his car, is my guess. Fusion, you yourself have experienced how hot "JDM" parts are and the Type-R accessories are as JDM as it gets without actually being JDM...
or he could be selling his ITR cluster to some idiot for a few hundred bucks

fuel and temp gauges wont work, otherwise yes. You can also just swap the gauges to the ITR motherboard/gauge cluster and all will work.
