autocross/dd
I daily drove the car that I autoxed.
many people do,
in fact most of the classes are designed for cars that are daily driven.
however that being said, you should have another reliable means of transportation if you are going to be beating up a car at the auto-x

LOL
Just take her to an auto-x so she can see what it's about. Talk to other people in stock classes and STS and ask them if they auto-x their DD. You'll be surprised just how many do.

My autocross car is my backup if my DD breaks. I drive it to and from events. The suspension is too hard and it's too low for DD use. It's nice to have a 2nd car, I think I have in the whole car about the same as a set of Hoosiers for the Z costs

I agree that auto-x isn't all that hard on a car really. I saw a bone-stock '90 Accord DX sedan autocrossing last weekend... that's the beauty of auto-x, you can do it in anything with very few repercussions

I auto-xed (and tracked)
my dd for a couple of years,
then bought an 89 Si as an
x-tra car (to auto-x) but since
my wife's car got totalled, she drives
the "other" dd/race car everyday!
u can do it too!!

Doesn't matter if it's auto or not. Any car is good to just get out there & learn how to drive. Hell, I've even autocrossed my taurus for fun
(& the sad part was that my times actually beat some people
)

You can use pretty much anything to start out with, **** the first car I used was an auto and it wasnt bad. I used to use my daily for autox, but I started going out to the road course more often, so I put together a seperate track/autox car. Its always nice to have a DD if you can afford it, but you shouldnt have a problem using it for autox.
