Who Has the Most Torque?
This question is dicey at best.
What are you really trying to find out?
I mean, you could have to two people, one producing 100ft-lbs @ 6500rpm and another producing 100ft-lbs @ 5000rpm.....so you tell me who's producing more (and if you actually gave me an answer, I wouldn't believe you as you haven't seen the rest of the graph, right).
I think the Q should maybe read "Who here thinks they have the MOST AREA under the torque curve?"....and even then....its still dicey.
So its looks to me that the only way to have a winner here, is people post up there plots, overlay them (assuming the x/y axis numbers all match up) and make a subjective decision on who wins....cuz I'll be damned if I can integrate the area under a curve just by looking at it.
Ehh...paper 'racing' gets old when you realize no one ever wins.
Not trying to crap on your thread (or you for that matter)...as I'm just trying to show you a different perspective.

undersquare engines like the b series engines make more power than tq, obviously... I think the GSR with the stock GSR manifold will make more tq than
a B18C5 or B16a or B16b. My GSR hit the 122 mark real quick on the dyno by just adding a CTR intake cam leaving everything else stock. I see ITRs on the dynocenter all the time that make 116,118,120 with 170-180whp. its pretty funny to me. I am sure the B20 makes killer tq however. Enter the CR-VTEC engine. The built B16B/B20Z seems to be the coveted setup as of late. How interesting...
anyone got endless funds and a good engine builder I can borrow?
!
Not all B-series engines are undersquare.
For those that don't know the term, it comes from the Bore-to-Stroke ratio.
Heres a link on that article: Bore vs. Stroke
And heres a link for some specs: Specs to back it up.

i thought the question was rather self explanatory; and the reason I'm asking is because of the fact that us Honda owners are not known for our torque monsters. So, is there anyone out there with a killer setup putting out over 300 ft/lbs? Somebody wildly redesign their B18 and give it equal hp/tq #'s?
It's easy to make HP, I don't care about that - I want to know how people are addressing the real challenge of tuning a Honda, and that is giving it some grunt.

I guess you 're talking about peak torque?
300ft-lbs out of a B18 motor.. I don't think I 've ever seen that. I have seen it in the 200's ft-lbs on a race Civic with a B18C1, lots of boost and almost 500whp. Of course it had a hek of a lot of engine mods..

Who here thinks they have the most torque (or the best plan for) out of their b-series engine? Any mods allowed.
I'm curious to see the all motor field of TQ numbers, I have a few cars to put in that field

3 decent motors I have personally dealt with and tuned..
B18C5 in my Integra.. 11:1 compression, ported head, DC JDM, stock ITR cams
181.0hp/135.6tq at the wheels
B20Z destroked to 1847cc.. 12.6:1 compression, fully worked, JUN cams
212.8hp/143.6tq at the wheels
B20Z, 11.2:1 compression, ITR cams, portedhead, tuned
202.2hp/152.0tq at the wheels
