And WOW.....I never thought I could have that much fun in a stock car.....the thing hauls ***.....okay when comparing it to a FF honda with no torque....but still the car was amazing.....
The downside was they were trying to get 34.5K for the RS.....which is like 6K markup....what a bunch of asses....
There is a dealer in Socal selling all EVO's for dirt cheap and I am considering flying down there and driving one back up...
The deal goes until the 30th of June and an MR would be 32,999 or an RS for 25,999......the price is right......Damn I wish MR came in black damnit!!!!

As lame as it sounds, I really like the spoilers on the Evo's so I'd be looking at the standard trim, especially with the ABS. Then again, saving $ is never a bad thing either.
good luck.
good luck.

Well this is as good a time as any for me to announce my new 2006 Graphite Grey MR I guess. No pics yet but I'll certainly post up a full review with pics in the near future.
The EVO is an amazing car. The power it has and it's ability to accelerate in stock form is extremely impressive The comparison to the R is just about apples to oranges besides the intuitive feelings and characteristics that both cars provide the driver.
I used South Coast Mitsubishi's competitive pricing to get my local dealer (Yonkers Mitsu) to play ball. I ended up getting my MR for $34,000. Which when I seriously considered and contacted Marc Mercado of South Coast (the guy who is selling all the EVOs and shipping them here), of course his price is $32,999 for the MR entire package, but I needed to consider about $1,200 for shipping and fees to get it to the right coast. I ended up haggling the price down at Yonkers just north of $34k and needed to throw a $500. manufacturers rebate that I got from the New York International Auto show to get the price as competitive with South Coasts.
Ask me anything you like. I did Alot of comparison shopping before I decided. In the end I wanted something that as closely resembled the R's characteristics for daily driving while providing all weather capabilities, a bit of a more forgiving ride and the ability to take it to autocrosses in stock form and have a days worth of fun all while providing decent gas mileage, multi passenger capacity and room for groceries and whatnot.
And NO I did Not sell nor do I ever intend to sell my R.
If you wonder why, just ask Brian (Hooptie).

right...... I raped MANY MANY cars in my evo. Including 450 whp supras (from a roll), Z06's, e46 m3's, sti's, srt-4's etc... Most from a roll too. I didn't even bother with honda's when they rev'ed on me cuz most were just a joke
The Evo was a sick monster but mine only got 150-200 miles per tank (small gas tank) and the dealership experience SUCKED (no loaner or rentels for warrenty work), Stuff would be broken when I got it back etc... My car also went through 3 T-cases and I NEVER took it to the track.
I dunno, I'd MAYBE get an MR again but thats it.

The 9 RS is great, too bad ABS isn't an option.
I had an 8 w/SSL and I don't miss it one bit.
That exhaust is awesome!

I sold the Evo to get another ITR. The ITR was 1/3 the cost and to me, just as fun to drive.

no sound clip yet, but its not as loud as some people might think...guess thats the benefit with turbo cars.....can't believe my ***-dyno can actually feel something from an exhaust system...
Here's my dyno for the evo. Sorry for the CRAPPY CRAPPY pics. That was done on 94 octane, stock turbo, HKS cams, tuned with AEM EMS by Turbo Trix.

I'm in your same position right now, but too bad I still have the damn EVO. Looking to get back into an ITR.. I doubt I'll miss this car much after I get rid of it.
