Hello all. I've been doing searches as best I could, and I'm sure the topic has been brought up several times before, and I honestly apologize for beating the dead horse, but I couldn't find the answers. Anyway, my question is:

Is it more difficult to swap an engine or boost it?
I drive a '98 civic ex with a D16Y8 (bolt ons are the usual I/H/E)

My goal is 200 whp. What would be the cheapest, most reliable, easy way to achieve this? Turbo my current engine? Swap for a B series?

And finally, what would be involved in the simplest solution?

(should I really just save my money and get a better car?)

stock b series engines will not give you 200 whp

 

turbo that y8, with the right turbo setup and tuning you can make 200hp out of that sohc. more horsepower than a swap alone.
