Default resonator (i think)

bought my car with AEM (big silver thing), bit fast&furious looking but if it makes power its worth it. Question is underneath the filter behind the left headlight there seems to be an oval plastic hole leading downward towards the ground, only it seems like its blocked off at the bottom, does anyone know how to open it up, i think it might be part of the resonator that the guy left behind when he installed the AEM

If you're talking about the passenger side under the air intake box yes that's the resonator...Its easy to remove...just a lot of bolts
here's a guide...

I think it's really worth removing it... i dunno - with my shortram sitting in the hot engine bay, and resonator installed - I found I was still experiencing a bit of bog, if I shifted early from 1st to 2nd (for say normal traffic driving (: )... I finally got around to removing that resonator and stuff, and personally i think the short ram breathes quite a bit better without the obstruction there, mind you now it's open to the outside, as part of my fenderwell plastic is cut off in that area (not by me). plus it's just a lot of extra plastic crap.... so free it up.
