Default Y8 head $75 should I get it? Pics.

Ok so I was going to buy this head from a local person for $75. He says he got it off ebay and the seller claimed only 40000 miles on it. He just sent me these pics.

Now I admit I do not know very much about this but it looks like it is in fairly rough shape. What do you guys think? Is it worth it or is it junk??

it looks like it had a lack in oil changes, a lot of baked on oil on the valve train. but for 75 go for it

Heres the thing. It is going on a 95 civic hatch with only 20,000 original miles on the D15. So I want something that is in as good condition as possible. It also seems that I can get a near complete one from here or ebay for $50-75 more and I think that would be better.

Any other opinions?

it "looks" ok, but it also looks like its been sitting in someones garage for a long time. If u get it, take it to a machine shop and have it cleaned/ hot tanked. and before u put it on, take it apart and put that red grease on the moving parts. that grease helps protect the engine for initial start ups

Yes this. I would just rebuild the head and have it ported and cleaned before you put it on. Make sure it is a y8 head though because I have seen threads where people thought they bought a y8 head but it wasnt

Thanks guys. I am still thinking about what to do with this. The price is good but I don't want to end up spending a TON of money on this build up. I think I may just get a better head to start with.
