just wondering if there was any autocross tracks in upstate new york or vermont. the only thing i find was down near new york city area or lime rock in ct.9use to live there been there ) i jsut dont want have to drive to ct just to race legally. it would be worth it i know plus i'll prob have a better chance of driving home instead of on the street with the dumbo's out there.

Most autocross "tracks" spend most of their time being referred to as "parking lots". I bet there are lots of parking lots in Upstate New York, including the northern section up towards Montreal as well as the western tier over towards Buffalo.

There are several events in the Montreal area, which might be close enough for you.

And they better be clickable, because there's no way Joe is going to be able to type in a website address without making errors...

Wrong. Watkins Glen is in Upstate New York.

Upstate New York consists of the entire state of New York except for Long Island, New York City, and the counties close to NYC.

Just because it doesn't happen to be in his end of Upstate New York, doesn't mean that it isn't in Upstate New York.

You're obviously not familiar with the area. Here's something you should be able to relate to: claiming that Watkins Glen isn't in Upstate New York is like claiming that Wilmington isn't near Philly. It's something you would hear from someone who has no frickin' idea about the area, and just isn't true.

Get it now?

Relax chief, I'm not bashing you. No need to take it all seriously.

And Wilmington is only 15-20 minutes from Philly. I doubt you could claim the same for Watkins Glen to the Vt border

It also looks like NHIS would be a shorter drive

you'll have to ask someone from watertown how they feel about that...

click the scca link i gave above. scroll down the page and there are the home pages of each region. the mohawk hudson holds many autox'es that are well within what i'd imagine you would consider "close enough". you could also hit many of the central and southern ny events without too much driving.

edit: from that page:

Then why do you continue to argue about it?

You miss my point. I didn't say that Watkins Glen was close to him. However, it is in Upstate New York.

well i like both. but sumtime you cna't do both. i mean why have a big box with 2 15's and a 3000 watts amp in the back of a car that has 200whp?. but i do like to make my car LOOK differnt then other and go to car shows. it jsut depends on the car. and what your plans are for it. like i would do my dd for show. and then have a race car that looks like **** because it won't have a interior or molding pieces and texlon window in all but the driver side that will have a net. skins doors. well not i'm just rambling but yea it kinda of depends on what the car's main purpose will be for.

Like I posted earler, SCCV autocrosses in Burlington VT and East Randolph VT - both of which are very very close to you.

they also race at SLMP (shifter cart track) three times a year: http://www.slmp.webhop.net/

check them out - http://www.sccv.org/cms/
