When you shifting at high speed how do you let go the clutch?
Like title said, when you taking the car to the redline, and getting ready to let go
the clutch for the next gear, do you let it go quicky(like on/off) or do you let it go
with a slight delay?
Well, the question comes up after talking to couple of friends, one of my firend
said a very slight delay will damper some shock/force so the tranny/clutch/diff will
not take the punch full force, but another friend said if you delay the release, the
slight slipping would be bad for the clutch disk(I guess when the disk is grinding
with the flywheel at redline)
Let me know what you think ht(espercially s2k driver)

If you know how to shift properly, nothing gets affected. No extra wear on tranny or clutch. If you are new, use the slow method until you learn. In most cases though, people never learn.
<---- If I shift too quickly at redline then the #!$!*!* damn clutch delay valve burns my f$*$*%ing clutch.
Other than that, it's ok.

what do you recommend for the S? that's the thing, i could careless for other car, but rumor has it, the S's drivetrain do not like hard launch that much.

It's all about the feel. Even with the clutch delay, you can still shift fast. Without it, you can shift faster. The engagement speed all depends on the condition, taking into account grip, cornering force, and rpm.

Sure. You can bypass it or replace the clutch slave cylinder with one from an 00-03 S2k. Those are about $93.00.
Check out s2ki.com for info on this.

I have a 02, there is nothing to do then.... right? I was told by someone that this delay crap was standard for all years.... to save the life of the clutch

too a point. in most cases the avg. driver cant even notice the delay.
i previously owned and ap1, so right from the bat with my ap2 i noticed it. eventually i removed mine, and it was well worth the time.
