Default spoon mirrors for ef

ok so i did this about a year ago and thought maybe id share it with you guys so you dont have to shell out a hundred plus bucks to get some spoon style mirrors. im going to make it quick also so any questions can be posted. ill tell you how i did it but im sure it can be done with mirrors from any type of car.

what you need...

spoon style mirrors from an 94+ integra (im sure eg mirrors or whatever can be used also)
two passanger side , side mirror covers from dx or hf civic/crx (the cover that covers the passanger side mirror for those cars that dont come with them)
screws/washers

basically all you do is take apart the spoon mirror. mine came in two pieces, there was the mirror section, and the base. they were screwed together. seperate the base from the mirror section on both mirrors. then take one of the side mirror covers and place it on the passanger side mirror hole, and place the other one on the drivers side (you need to flip it around, but it fits). those will be your new bases. simply place the mirrors up to those and figure out how you want them mounted, drill three holes in the base (using whatever method u prefer, i placed bolts in them and put paint on the heads and pressed them against the base and then just drilled where i saw paint). attach the mirrors to the base, then using a screw or two with large washers, drill from the inside of the door into the base, securing the mirror. thats how i did it but im sure you can figure otu a better way. they are very secure also. now all you need ot do is find a cover for the interior to cover the hoels because they dont have adjusters that come through. i jused used my stock ones with the holes in them, maybe sedan covers will work , the ones with power mirrors, not sure though. try it and let me know. there may have been little steps i did in between, but i cannot remember as i did this a year ago almost. but i do remember it was very easy, and i didnt have to hack anything up. the side mirror covers work perfect. i picked up these mirrors for 10 bucks off ebay, and got the covers for about a buck from the junkyard. so all in all it cost me less then 15 dollars, way better then spending a bill plus on some vision mirrors or the likes.

I'm a fan of that. I made my own bases on my last ef, but this one I bought some sPoon knockoffs from the company duffman works @

they work, just get long screws and sandwich it up

o

best part, 40 shipped on ebay form some seller

Not sure I understand & what are you launching in reverse? These things are solid they don't weigh hardly a thing.

i assumed u meant a track car, i dont launch my daily driver. but they wont move im sure, i used the base plate from a dx (the cover for those without a right side mirror) and it isnt just a cover, it fits snuggly in the hole area (hard to explain i know but if u look at the cover from the right side ud know what im saying).

</TD></TR></TABLE>how in the hell, did you get i was trying to launch the car in reverse???

i would drive my car to work everyday, and the mirrors would slowly move up. when going out on a sat night, i would line up and launch the car. mirrors would jump, up out of adjustment.
