Why do they say that a JUN chromoly flywheel can't be resurfaced?
The thing is made of steel- how bad would it be to resurface. I am replacing my clutch and was thinking about getting a light surfacing done to avoid problems down the road.
more than likely a liability issue. Consider it a responsibility waiver for Jun just in case ordinary joe blows one up and sues them. Heh, the initial surfacing is on them, any and all resurfacing thereafter is your responsibility.
I dont have one nor have I read their warnings, but it makes sense to me.

I just got mine resurfaced- they said it took a bit longer to do, but it came out nice and smooth. So much for that theory
maybe the friction surface is only an insert, so probably very thin, maybe the insert is replaceable???
I am not sure, but I know Chomoly is a touchy thing. I believe it is electrostatically treated, so maybe the material structure is changed and is not uniform throughout the entire flywheel. But that's just a theory....
