Hey guys I’m having a really problem with my brakes on my eg. Some symptoms:
-they are not linear at all anymore. Like I really have to push them and at one point they finally really apply.
-sometimes, I stop at a hill without the ebrake up and the car doesn’t roll down, like I have to put it in gear to move it
-seems like the car is much slower (acceleration wise).

This follows after I replaced the shocks in the civic with tokicos. I didn’t touch anything in the brake system really except the brake lines where I had to unscrew them from the front shocks and rescrew them onto the new ones. I didn’t really screw them back on properly I think because there really doesn’t seem to be a proper way to fit both. See what I mean below. So can brake lines going up and twisted be causing this problem, if not what so then? If it is, what is the right way to reattach them?

The brake line seems totally off on the bracket.

You try turning the strut into its proper position.
Use a pair of channel locks being careful not to damage the strut.

Your lines could have kinks in them causing this wierd brake problem.
Line up those lines and come back to us with some feedback.

i had this problem with the front brakes on my 93 cx, the brakes were sticking and all that and they got really hot when i applied them cause they were sticking on.

come to find out, both fron flex lines had collapsed (not noticible from looking at them) and i replaced them and it fixed them. they were soo collapsed i couldnt even blow air through them...

 

you guys were right. The shock on the opposite side as shown in the pic was installed such that the mounting posts for the brake lines were facing inwards rather than outwards. I unbolted the shocks and twisted it correctly and now the brakes are fine-yay!
