what would you do?
If you had $6000 to dump into your bone-stock 91 rex hf... with fender damage, some rust spots, flawless 200k mile motor... what would you do?
Fix the body work? Put it off and make a killer street motor? Spend 6000 on NeoN UNDeRCaR LiTeS lol j/k

You dont think a ls/vtec w/ turbo, s1 and all that wouldnt be better than a b16? Or do you think the b16 would be more reliable.
How much hp do you think a stock b16 can handle SAFELY?

CRV-tech by far if you have 6000 US. that swap done by yourself can be done for 4000 US then get a Turbo intercooler for it and some used 15" rims and tires. Neuspeed race springs. Then get M3 fenders and borrow money for a WW body kit and get painted.
But a 340 HP CRV-TECH Turbo can be done for about 5000 US if you do all the work yourself.
then 1000 on suspension should do

How does ls/vtec, t3/t4 turbo, valve work and big cams sound?
Or for the "style" side... Straight ls swap, mugen style body kit (from extreme dimensions), si or gsr wheels, paint job, and maybe a small shot

How does ls/vtec, t3/t4 turbo, valve work and big cams sound?
really? i want it to stay streetable. but i think a high 11 to mid 12's sounds pretty good. anyone know how much hp b18a/b and b16 can handle with stock internals. and how does the cranks hold up? I'd rather start off with stock internals for a while (dont think funds would allow money for rods/pistons/crank/guard etc etc).
Thinking about getting a loan (if credit allow's) for 6 grand to 7 grand. I know ill be digging myself in the hole but racing for a couple of bucks here and there plus having no other bills other than insurance ill be able to handle it.

the ls/vtec sounds awesome, but i would go with b16, stock internals, maybe 8psi, do the swap your self and save some cash. get a moroso oil pan, like $50, has set up for oil return lines to make it easier on you with turbo so you don't have to weld and make your own. after the engine goodies.....should stil have cash to at least body work done, and in primer....save up a tiny bit more cash and get some paint. or get like another 1500 loan.....get a nice kit....then have the body work done and have it painted....it would be a gorgeous and fast car....

Hmmm you think 7 grand would be enough funds for ls/vtec swap (w/s1), small shot, $1000 body kit (500 for paint b/c a buddy of mine paints), and maybe some gsr wheels or si...
Sounds fun, ya?

1) Complete B18C1 swap
2) Big brake upgrade on front
3) Cheap coilovers w/ AGX's all around and big rear swaybar
3) Fix body (fenders are cheap), have it painted back the factory color (so you do not have to mess with the door jams(sp?) or engine bay)
4) Have some GSR wheels powder coated gunmetal

also consider that most full size trucks are under 100 along with cav's and sunfires under 40.00

I must have got lucky becaue my fenders were cheap. I got them from a local junkyard and they were cheaper than what you are saying. You can probably get some brand new "Made in Tiawan" fenders for less than $100. I payed $80 a piece for a front bumper and hood that was brand new "Made in Tiawan" so surely a fender would be a little cheaper.
Although now that I think about it, it has been 2 years since I bought mine. That could make a difference.
