Default Need help finding a 0.5/2 ohm 1200-1500wrms stabled amp.

I need help finding a 0.5/2ohm that makes at least 1000-1500watts rms stable. Some suggestions would be great, something decent but not top notch. Budget is $300-$400, yeah I know it's not much. My subwoofer is a Dual 1 ohm sub, so anything that is 0.5 / 2 ohm that puts out 1200-1500w rms would be nice. Right now it's going to be powered by a JL Audio 500/1 for temp, not going to be over driving it at all.

your budget is kind of small for your request. I would look into hi-phonics or something used but good off of e-bay. most good amps are going to run you about 1 dollar a watt or so. What kind of speakers are you trying to push.

2005 RE Audio 12" XXX (got it for a really great deal, was not expecting to get this). Yeah I know my budget is pretty small, maybe I could sell the JL 500/1 and put out a few extra hundred and have enough for one. I don't really want to sell the 500/1 though, I got it for way too good of a deal to give away.

Edit: Are the Lanzar Opti ___ amp's any good?

I don't want to talk out my azz so I am going to say this. I have not used that amp that you have mentioned. But from the specs it seams decient. I can't say how it would perform thou. Also the sub that you are using is a good sub. I haven't much time on my hands with them but I installed a couple and they sounded great. I would save my chips if I was you and buy a good amp for that sub. Don't half azz it. Better to do it right from the begining.

I am going to do it right, as much as I want to go for something like a Orion 2500D , RF Power T20001D, or something. I just cannot spend my entire 2week work check on 1 amp, actually probably not even enough for it. I'll wait for others to chime in about the Lanzar Opti amps, I'm a bit iffy on the brand Lanzar.

Edit: Also I was looking at the Hifonics Brutus BXi2006D, I'm not a fan how the 2006 model Hifonics amp look though, although I shouldn't care how it looks, but I do, but the specs seems ok.

The hifonics is a good choice if you are on a budget. And they put out good power and they are affordable.

The US Amps MD2D only puts out 800wrms x 1 @ 2ohms. How reliable are US Amps anyways? I see some people using them, the name looks kind of iffy about them. Are they good amplifiers? How can you tell if an amp is .5 ohm stable? It states they run at 1/2/4 but I've seen people drop it down to .5

Edit: NVM the US Amps MD2D puts out 1000wrms x 1 @ 2ohms.

I don't like buying stuff online through forums from people I don't know.

US amps are awesome amplifiers. I would give up trying to find an amp thats 0.5 ohm stable and start concentrating on one thats 2ohm stable.

Usually if an amp is 1 ohm stable or 0.5 ohm stable it will state specifically on the spec sheets.

I just talked to USAmps tech support, he said that they are Not 0.5ohm stable, that they are only 1ohm stable.

What about a SoundStream PCA2000D? The price isn't that bad on these, 1100 x 1 wrms @ 4ohm, 1500wrms x 1 @ 2ohms, 2000wrms x 1 @ 1ohm.

Also looking at a Orion XTR PRO2400. Anyone else know any good non-mainstream amplifiers for a good price?

US Amps are definitely good ****. I've been running two of them since 1998 and have never had a problem...

Team Gates used them in their first SPL vehicle before they switched to Kicker IIRC...

Good ****.

Okay Im gonna chime in now. Here's what you do:

a. sell the JL slash to a fan boy!!- its a good amp that will can do about almost 800 rms,but you want MO' POWER RIGHT!!!!
b. take the $$$ and add on for your new amp.
c. Go to http://www.TermPro.com and ask around. OR better yet just lurk.
Look into Incriminator Audio's 20.1, American Bass 150.1 or 400.1,Digital Designs Z1,Fusions 'the surfboard'.

You will need to supply that amp with the proper voltage or VERY BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN And im not talking about some BS 1 farad cap crap either...were talking:
-new hi output alt
-new cable a few runs of 1/0 cable
- a battery that can take a 400 amp+ hit and keep on ticking
Get ready to spend $$$$$ or you will be looking at a very exspensive paperweight.

now go play nice

Hey you wanted the truth.... YOU CAN"T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!
seriously what you want to do...is a whole lot bigger that you expect. Use the amp you have and wire the sub at 2 ohms and just enjoy the drive.

The 500/1 probably won't even move the sub. I'll be running 0/1 GA Cable, and I'll probably get a upgraded alt, and maybe a 2nd battery. Just not all at once.
