AP1 AP2 rear bumper interchangeability
My friend is getting a new rear bumper Monday because of an idiot that rear-ended him... fortunately it doesn't look too bad, but the bumper is gouged, so it must be replaced.
Is the AP2 rear bumper a direct replacement to the AP1 bumper? I noticed the cutouts for the exhaust tip is more oval...
His car is BONE stock. If anyone has already done this and has any pictures, please post some pics, preferably with stock muffler/tips.
Thanks!

the rear is snap on, the front you need to grind some metal off

The bottom 2 clips on the AP2 bumper doesn't quite reach. On the AP1 there's 3 holes. You also have to tap new holes in the fenderwell sides for screws. The ones on the AP2 bumpers are too high.

Wow, thank you moemers!
Would buying the bumper and screws/bolts from the later model mean that nothing has to be extended? Or is this longer bolt issue something that is on the body side?

you can only buy the bumper. go to autozone and buy 6 nylon locking nuts and 2 4 inch bolts.
get underneath the body and you'll see the L brackets the bolts need to go in. it's pretty straightforward.
