Default Was installing Endyn breather kit but... What is this on my block?

I was trying to install the kit by removing the two block plugs from the back of the block to install the nipples. But on one of my stock plugs there is a sensor/switch on it? I have a B18A1 block and I dont think they come with a knock sensor so what is this? What do I do with it cause I have to remove it to install the Endyn setup. Thanks

Yes there was a plug that goes to it.

Are you sure that is a knock sensor? I was under the impression that B18A1 blocks does not have a knock sensor. Also when my tuner tuned my car on the dyno he said Crome did not show a knock sensor.

Im not sure of what it is either.
But I know its not the fan switch.
The fan switch is directly to the right of the sensor circled in that pic.

yeah the one in the red circle is a oil pressure sensor (single wire)...where were you going to tap for vtec????????.....the 2 wire one is the coolant temp sensor...if you notice on the obd 1 motors there is a sensor on the thermostat housing and on this motor it was not equipped with one...thats why when you put a sohc v into a crx you ahve to extend the wires...from the back of the block and change the clip....JYESSS!

Oil temp sensor, only found on 92-93 B18A1 blocks that were in DA's equipped w/ A/C.

is it 1 pin or 2 pin????
ks is ONLY a 1 pin sensor, so is oil pressure

ks is also allways a black plug, not green

the 2 wire sensor next to it is oil pressure, and the green plug is infact a fanswitch

its not a knock sensor i dont think.. its a two pong sensor. could be a oil temp sensor? i'm not the original owner of the block and i bought it ready for ls/vtec. but my tuner said i dont have a knock sensor cause when he enabled it i got a check engine. also again it is two pong.

What year is the block so we can rule out the fan switch b/c other than that location it would have to be on the t-stat housing.

KS is the blk plug up above that right under where the head bolts on

on ur block it looks like a oil pressure plug thats usually on the vtec solenoid
in this pic it looks different

my knock is green
so ur comment about ks always being blk is false
n oil pressure plug in on the vtec solenoid

non-vtec blocks that r identical to their vtec couterparts(ex.b18a/d16y7) come from the factory with an already pre-threaded hole for the KS
All u do is screw it in & wire to the ecu

its not an oil temp sensor
unscrew it & find out 4 urself
no oil will leak out
no oil can even get to it
theres no hole goin inside the block

whoever u bought it from had it ready 4 vtec
& all vtec ecu's look 4 a KS

how did ur tuner enable ur KS
do u mean pin it into where ur ecu looks for it(which i doubt exists unless u have a vtec ecu)</TD></TR></TABLE>

Its a two prong sensor. Knock sensor is a single wire.

WTF is the problem here, its the ******* fan switch. how many noobs does it take to figure that out. the 94+ B series and D series have it on the thermostat housing, 93- are in the back of the block.

that looks like a knock sensor to me pull it off and look at it ,how would it be a fan switch if theres no coolant there,i allso believe if you remove it that hole will be blind just a threaded hole with no oil passage behind it,knock sensor is two pronged and the reason your ecu does not see it is cuz theres no wire from your ecu going to the engine harness, most people have to add a knock sensor to there ls/v so they will work just like a real vtec engine
