Installing muffler...what happens?
I'm just wondering that if I install a muffler in my car and expand the piping..(rsx-s muffler into a stock 97 civic HB), will I need to remove my catylytic convertor or anything to do this? or can it be done without having to remove anything?
I'm going to go to a shop for them to weld it for me.
Thanks. I'm a newb at all this stuff.

No, they don't have to change the cat and they should be able to weld it onto your stock piping.
Good choice on the muffler, they look great on EK's.

like said above, they'll just weld to your stock piping.. but id recommend getting the rest of the exhaust replaced with something SS and bigger diameter. thats just me!
When I had my exhaust done they made a new custom bent pipe from the muffler to the cat. I would just do that and have them weld up that RSX-S muffler to the pipe. Should sound pretty good, nice choice

I recently installed a 05 rsx-s exhaust on my ej8, and that thing barely fits in there. The problem with it is that it almost hits where the spare goes. BTW, it isn't loud at all, considering that i have 2 1/4 piping, can hardly tell its there. Looks nice too.
just another question people
if i get custom piping..from 2" to a 2.25" pipe...would i need a new resonator or anything or can the old one be welded with the new size piping still?
Thanks.
