Weird high pitched sound when starting gsr motor
When i start my car it makes a high pitched sound like someone scratching their fingers on a chalkboard. It doesnt do it everytime i start it though. Car has plenty oil and the belts are tight. My last motor did it too whenever i started the car.
It could be the power steering belt. Mine does that sometimes when i start the car and move the steering wheel. I just tighten the belt and it goes away.Hope thats the case with u.
I dont have power steering in the car. How do i check the distributor? It did it on my previous motor before i swapped it out. I'm starting to think the actual car is cursed. Sometimes the car wont start. It's sound really strong and when i turn the key the engine wont turn over and the brake light comes on, even though the E-brake is down. I have plenty of brake fluid in the car and i dont the car wont start cuz my brake pads are brand new.
might be the timing belt or any other belt, check em right...belts have that sound right when starting the car, put some belt grease from auto zone
