Default Short ram or CAI?

Is a CAI really worth it over a short ram? I wanted to get a CAI, but I might get a short ram....

Cold air intake is better than short ram, but kind of pricey. AEM makes the best cold air intake.

go find the article on the web for the guy that made the CAI out of mandrel bent exhaust tubing from JC Whitney. he did this on a 94 Del Sol, but i used the same instructions for my 90 DX and it worked very well. aside from the AEM sticker, you can't tell the difference. it's just as solid, and cost $60 as compared to $200.

if you have the money, i would go for the AEM CAI system, its all around better than short ram.

the guy that said somethin about the bypass valve its not really worth it. if u r driving yout car though water deep enough to get hyrolock then u should be driving a jet ski instead. u have to submerge it to get enough water to hydrolock. plus u have a better chance of the foam coming out and jamming your TB wide open than u do of gettin HL. i have read of it happening a few times. just somethin to think about.

assuming its a crx or hatch**** take the gay rubber thing coming out of your intake box and the bybass box underneath your wheel well you get the same effect of a short ram and the sound of a CAI plus you spent nothing and no one will know the wiser when you pop the hood.. lil tip for all you sleepers out there

Yeah sounds good but not same sound as a CAI or short ram air. cause they have 360* and more exposed sucksion. They sound way better then a swiss cheesed airbox. cause i had a Swiss Cheesed airbox then went to ram air off buddy then to a AEM CAI. And AEM is byfar the coolest : looking,sounding,performance.......... the list goes on. BUT SO EXPENSIVE IF YOU BUY NEW

great article.

Alotta people on here say that the eBay cai are pretty much the same as the aem, injen..etc. But I worry about fitment & installation issues.

a intake is a intake. im making my own with the U-bend then doing some heat wrap, alot better than paying AEM's price. ebay intake work fine to, its just the filters you get arent that good
