stock vtec crossover is at 5600 on a y8 (or 5500) but since you say your running 18psi i am assuming you have more than a few mods and you probably have some ecu chip or program to help with your turbo, so the crossover may have been lowered... however...

what are you asking?

lmao, i think he said he has no power under 4k...

Now for us to help you we need to know SOMETHING about the car other than its a boosted y8. IMO your not hitting full boost till after 4k therefor theres no power or tq(obviously) low end. Now the q is have you ever hit boost below 4k. Maybe you need a fresh tune? idk MORE INFO!

your running 18 pounds of boost on a y8, and you want to know why your car is bogging/slow before 4k, and you through is was the air filter

maybe you should ask the person you bought the car from

the reason its runnning like **** is because you just have some ebay "skunk 2" chip and the car is not properly tuned

exactly... you have to TUNE your car... you need some sort of ems or a chipped ecu so that you can burn your own program. Second, just because you CAN rev to 9000, doesnt mean you SHOULD rev to 9000, just an FYI b/ you will be rebuilding the head b4 you know it. I cant believe you are boosting and running a skunk2 ecu program.. thats for an NA b series

atleast you finally found out how to spell vtec

like i said i dont know a whole lot about motors. My ecu probally does need tuned but it runs fine no hesatation, no knoking, no chattering, but it does bog until 4k the car has been set up like this for six months and no problems. 2 weeks ago it started bogging and keeps getting worse. I do know i should'nt rev it to 9k i shift a about 7500-7800. thanks for all the comments but it still doing it.

Sounds to me like you need some stronger valve springs with that much boost. Might wanna look into dual titanium valve springs. Cause whats happening is when you hit 18psi your forcing the valves open which causes hesitation. Check your valve springs you might have made them weak. With that much boost on that small of a motor.
