Ls/Vtec HELP!!!
I bought some Eagle connecting rods and wanted to put some b16a (pr3) pistons on them but the machine shop said that I need floating pistons. They also said something about the connecting rod bushings. Does anyone know what they are talking about?
yeah.. Honda OE pistons use a pressed pin to hold the pistons onto the rods. these pins HAVE to be pressed into the rods/pistons.
the Eagle rods use a floating pin. you can slide the pin in yourself using a floating pin (which is secured with c-clips). you cannot use Eagle rods with Honda OE pistons. you need aftermarket pistons like Ross or JE for example.

Guy, it would be hundreds cheaper to buy ls rods and have them pressed in. Pistons and rings will run you around 500+, however you'll be able to get 12.5 compression. If you do decide on forged pistons, get some that are 20 thou over. With the ls stroke, you displacement should be around 1850cc I think. Anywho, I'll give you my ls rods for 50 shipped if you want em.
