If i remember correctly the h22 has really think cylinder walls, and boring out that much isn't really the best of ideas. Most people wont go past 2.3 ... and most wont even do that

That same place, Pocket Rocket builds or bores the H 2.2L out to a 2.7L that's a very big bore..

You will be okay with 2.4 or even close to 2.5. You can still keep a 89mm bore. If you use a H23 crank you should have displacement close to JDMJD3.

H22A/1/H23A1:
Sleeved Block/89mm bore
H23 crankshaft
Any off the shelf H23 rod
Any off the shelf 1.200 compression height H23 piston

That will give you 2364cc's and a r/s ratio of 1.49 (stock H23)

Or it you want to go bigger:

H22A/1/H23A1
Sleeved Block/89mm bore
H23 crankshaft offset ground from 1.888 to 1.771 (98mm)
Crower 5.564/.935/1.890 rod part # ML93723B-4
Custom 89mm 1.150 compression height pistons w/.827 (B series) wrist pin

That will put you at "0" deck

That will give you 2438cc's and a r/s ratio of 1.44

If you have the H22a4:

H22A4
Sleeved Block/89mm bore
F23 crankshaft (reworked to accept .935/1.890 BE bore (B series rods)
Crower 5.564/.935/1.890 rod part # ML93723B-4
Custom 89mm 1.170 compression height pistons w/.827 (B series) wrist pin

That will give you 2413cc's and a r/s ratio of 1.45

^^ I agree with that also. From what I've read, 2.5L is about as big as you can take it before it becomes unstable/unreliable. Well, for long time use or something.

I am going with the 2nd option that I posted. My cousin is going with the first one, the H23 vtec bored to 89mm.

Contact PrecisionH23a. He is a member here. He does Darton work.

so ive been working with frank at pocket rockets for about two weeks off and on i was all ready to send my block off to darton and franks says why dont you think about about one of my extended deck blocks he is making a 1/2 taller deck h22 block (better rod to stroke ) . has any one delt with a extended deck block i didnt realise that you could extend a block . the olny reason i ask is that ive never heard of it (so im a dumb *** ) . but after i ship off my block to darton get mid sleves and get it back the machine shop here still has to line hone and speck and mike will be about the same cost as the extened deck . assembled by pockets w/ the 2.5 insalled .

Well, if its the same price then go for it. I've never had one personally, but yeah then you can use a longer rod and get a few more r's out of it safely. Frank seems to know his stuff, and the pics I've seen of his work prove it.
