my 1995 Civic LX has a problem

so tonight i was driving around with my friends. i started to notice that when i started my car, it sounded a little weak. it sounded like it was just barely starting. so, after a little while, i notice that the needle on my temperature gauge was WAAAAYY up there. past the H. so, i pull over and i can see some smoke coming from near the right headlight. my friend didn't have any antifreeze or coolant, so my other friends dad said to put some hot water in the radiator (sounded weird to me, but i did it). after that, steam was coming out of the radiatior so fast i couldnt see. i waited to see if it would stop..it didnt. so i just left the cap off and carefully drove straight home.

so, what should i do? i have antifreeze here at home. do i just pour it in there or what? maybe drain the water in there?

i'm sorry for my lack of car knowledge. please help me?
ps. i just put antifreeze in my car a couple weeks ago...

 

flush your antifreeze and change your thermostat...see if it works

 

it's okay if a lil water stays in there...most anti-freeze around here could be like 50-50 mixes (half anti-freeze and half water), but obviously you have to see where it's leaking from b4 u fill nething back up...
