g'day peeps.
i'm in the process of installing an EG6 double DIN console and all is easy except for one bit: getting the damn cigarette lighter out of the old console. i cant for the life of me figure out how to get it out. i can see the electrical socket part has to screw out but i cant see a good point to unscrew it from. also, according to the install guide the front part should just come out but it seems to be stuck.
any help would be hugely appreciated.

i just broke my old one. the only thing holding it in is the plastic and it is easy to break. you wont be needing it anyways

 

lol yeah i snapped that bit.

its all done now though. the socket was a bit oxidized and wasnt moving. a bit of lube spray and some time to soak sorted it out
