Default amp power wire for engine ground

is it possible to use this or will i melt? My engine ground is all rotten looking and i want to change it. thanks

You can use thicker wire as a ground, prefered actually.

If you want to make sure you have a really good ground...get a piece of 0 gage wire. 4 gag should do the trick though.

yeah its a 4 guage, but really thats not the issue. i noticed that they use steel braided wire unshielded for gound, the amp wire on the other hand has the plastic coating around it and with it being so close to the rad im wondering if it will melt.

Nah, You're good. If it were right next to the exhaust manifold that'd be different.

8 gauge is fine for all your grounds except the one to the actual battery, which should be 4 gauge at least.

0 gauge is ridiculous even if the battery is in the trunk. Waste of money and added weight to the vehicle.
