Default Short ram or Stock airbox?

Ever since these 90 degree days, and the installation of my DC sports header, I've noticed that my car is sluggish. The obvious reason is that my short ram intake is sucking up all the hot air. Would it be prudent to put my stock airbox w/ K&N drop-in back in? At least that way, I could get some low end back, and the air being sucked in will be cooler.

Paper type? I thought K&N only made one type of filter material?

i think he means the replacement type air filter... cus they sure dont make paper ones. thats the whole point why k&n are so much better.

oh ya, and most auto parts stores carry a wide assortment of filters.

Razor, don't put the stock airbow back on your car. The 4G cars have the intake on the exhaust side of the battery, but since the 5G cars have the intake on the other side of the battery, it effectively becomes a heat shield. Also, the stock airbox is too restrictive to make any difference in power when correcting for underhood temperatures.

why not just extend it out of the engine bay to the federwell and wrap the intake?

The air box itself actually flows very well. The only restrictions to the stock intake system would be the resonator and the cheap paper filter. Of course, a custom intake arm would not hurt either, but the stock box is good. The airbox design is being copied now by many respected tuners such as Comptech, Spoon, and Mugen.

The part # for the K&N panel filter is 33-2071.

The stock intake arm however is a shitty design. The interior walls are not smooth and my 3" short ram is bigger.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the intake arm. I am trying to figure out a way to get a bigger arm, but I haven't had any luck just yet. Does you or anyone know right off if the intake arm from an H22 or H23 lude will fit?

Yes. The AEM intake for an F22 is 2.5 inches. The one for an H23/H23 is 3.0 inches.

Cool, however I was wondering about the stock arm. I'll assume that the stock arm from the H22/23 will fit, since the AEM will fit. Thanks
