Default Explicit Speed Performance Crx back from paint (Rio Red)

I got my crx back from paint and I was really happy. Rio Red factory color. They did a great job on the minimal lil dings and dents. It came out really nice. Puget Sound Autobody did a great job at a great price. I got the exterior painted and engine bay painted. The jams were clean to begin with so I didnt have them shoot it. It's nice to see new door trim all dent free, but I am sure it can't last long... I have one teaser pic, I am going to let it cure for a couple weeks before I get back on it with the H22A engine.

2 Stage Dupont Rio Red paint
2 coats of clear and 4 coats of clear on the hood
All trim re-painted black

Your silly. I like how you think an H22 weighs 1200lbs and will destroy the whole front end suspension. They weigh about 75lbs more then an B18C5. If the H22 ruins the suspension, so will the b18C5.

I don't like Rio Red. Even when it's new it looks faded. Maybe it's the angle of the shot/the sun.

Yeah, it's MORE then COMMON KNOWLEDGE that H22's aren't heavy all like that.
If I recall the weight difference between it and a B16 was like 175 pounds, which aint ****. There are definitely alot of threads that cover this and some have extreme details.

Regardless of not likin the color, you gotta give it up to him, that's a fresh paint jobn right there! For $2k I'd be a happy camper

Nice bro!

As per the H22 vs a B18C5 or B16A, alot of ppl seem to forget one simple fact:
the CRX didnt come with either from the factory (atleast none that we drive here unless its imported)... The chassis and suspension can take some added weight (a B already weighs more than a D), but you add even more weight ontop of that (an H), and you have problems...

You sir, are stupid. The difference between a H22 and a B18C5 is next to nothing. Infact, it's like having a passenger in the car. Except the passenger can produce a few extra pounds of torque.

A dry D16A6 weighs ~220lbs.

A dry H22A weighs ~350lbs.

Wow, 130lbs. I weigh more then that. I can see how my fat *** can ruin the suspension.

EDIT: So I don't get screwed for thread jacking, the Rio Red in the second pic is way nicer then the first. Must be the angle/sun of the shot. Buff it out when you can and take a nice shot for me. I like red, just not rio red. My dad has the new 09 Civic EX in red....that's a nice red.

I love when people make comments like their intelligent or somethning?

OBVIOUSLY our cars didnt come with these engines, nor were they designed to handle them.
But - have you ever heard of a thing called "Aftermarket parts"????
As in: new suspension maybe? or bigger brakes? hmmmm lets use common sense here buddy

Ever heard of torque steer, retard!

Ignorant people. 130lbs extra over the stock engine, a B is about 85lbs over the stock engine, it's like having a passenger riding in the car, only this passenger can make 90hp and about 50 torque more then stock.

Urgh, people always think 'Oh the H is SO heavy, it ways like a 1000lbs and a B series ways like 20lbs'.

To the ignorant.

EDIT: I've seen/heard people say 'Is that an H22 laying over there?' When it was a B16A on the ground. Most people have never seen a B or an H next to eachother. They are about the same size, the H stands taller. Most people fail to realise that aluminum is light, and that the engines are HOLLOW on the inside (well not hollow, there is parts and channels, but there is alot of open space). The only SEEMS bigger because it's taller, and normally sits diagonally in an engine bay. Ask 2point2 here how he feels about his H turbo in his 88 CRX Si.

To all you guys sayin go for the H.

I never said it will ruin your suspension, duh, it wont, I said it will handle like ****.
Even with the aftermarket support.
Have you ever heard of understeer?
It will be great for straight line fun, but **** for actual racing. autocross, cones, road course etc.... I have had one, coil over suspension, strut bars blah blah blah, all the handling goodies, and it handled LIKE ****. Way too much understeer.
Try taking a sharp corner at speed and you will find out too.

But go ahead, its your project, I have no say in it. Good lookin car man.

H is about 50lbs more then a B series...then the B series would be way to much to handle too.

Ironic... I love when ppl make comments how ppl are ignorant and make a typo themselves, just makes them look like a bigger ***...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by ludesrv &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">You sir, are stupid. A dry D16A6 weighs ~220lbs.

A dry H22A weighs ~350lbs.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

You also dont sit in the front of the car thereby pulling (with your weight) the front end as a heavier (and more powerful mind you) engine would... See; understeer.

BTW, I dont know where u got your facts but the A6 is roughly 130~140lbs by itself... Id like to see actual evidence that its more... I had a D15B VTEC shipped to my door which im sure weights the same if not more, and it was about 130lbs... And Im sorry, but I cant see a tranny making up the difference of about 90 lbs... I mean Im not little guy, but I lifted the tranny like it was no thing by myself and bolted it onto the block...

Anyways, I really dont want to turn this guys thread into yet ANOTHER debate on the H22s weight issues... So Im done, Ive said my peace...

I love how this turned into an H vs B thread haha

As far as the paint no over spray here, Rio Red has an orange tint not orange peel in it, Yes the pictures do the paint no justice...
