huge problem , lots at stake
I was at the track runnin pretty good times, messing with the boost, and all was well.
...except once i left for home, i heard a tiny knocking which i thought was a body part shaking or somehting...i kept driving for 2 or 3 miles. Until i realized my car knocked more and had much less power it seemed when i was trying to catch up with my friends. I turned it off and got it towed to a shop i go to.
they said they put a stethoscope up to the block, and since it was "coming from the bottom end, i should just get a new engine." I built the bottom end 20k ago, which doesnt mean much but what the guy said really confused me. I noticed a lot of oil on the valve cover, so i think maybe a plug got drowned and thus it might be running on 3 cylinders (i hope to God).......
help me out, any advice would be greatly appreciated

a drowed plug won't make your car knock. More than likely you spun a rod bearing.
Either that or a lose valve that is hitting the piston slightly. Take of the head and play with the valves, if they seem fine its probobly a bearing.
sucks
