Default not honda related

i have a question. i also have a 2000 f150 and i put a new deck in and i am having a problem with it over heating. so what i did is take a drill and drill two 3/4 inch holes in the a/c ducks and let them cool the deck. now i wonder is it is ok to do so because only at night when it's cool some mostier builds up around the a/c vents. so what i would like to know is it ok to do this. i wonder if it is ok because of the heat that the deck put out if that will make it worse and make the mostier wores.

It'll be fine... If the deck is heating up as much as you say it is in there, it'll evaporate most of the extra moisture if any... BTW, with the A/C on, it'll take most of the moisture out of the air anyway, so you can rest easy. You'll be okay.

well i have noticed that problem on all of my deck's. i run a 500 watt amp for my sub and and all of the door speakers from the deck. i have the settings on loud amp gain and when i turn it up to let's say 40 "max 62" after about 10 min. of play i can hear it start to distort. the way i have fixed it is by just running an amp for my door speaker and and i just keep the amp cool and it is never a problem.

If your playing it that loud... invest in some external amps...

if you just want the bass to be loud.. the head should be able to add more bass gain to the amp...

also most head units don't output more than 22w max... some do 50w max..

but seriously.. if ur playing ur music that loud.. get an external amp or two...

and some ear plugs to protect ur ears...

Try this, reground the radio to its own ground. The factory ground carries alot of other accs on it and might not be enough to run the head unit. I would also move the acc wire to the fuse block so it can pull power there so it can receive more voltage. This should help out alot.

I don't want it ear breaking loud. i just like nice, crisp, and clear sound and smooth bass. I'm not the type to let my system beat the block down. just enough for me to enjoy.
