Pics from recent race car additions...ready for 2006!
Here are a few pics from some recent roll cage additions, ghetto wing additions, and a few toys... and yes I know it has black wheels, so what, I didn't want to be in a magazine anyways
I hate cleaning brake dust

A few new toys added to help make some more power.. you gotta have a Ferrari if you are using it for the racecar

Some various roll cage addition pics (the additions have not been painted yet)

This is going to make my life a HELL of a lot easier.....

Some various rear shots with the new wing mount....my rules allow the wing to be no more than 4" above the highest point of the roof, so we are making good use of that rule. It is mounted to the rear hatch hinges (the only thing solid back there) which have been supported so that it does not break the rear glass...and yes I know ...it is VERY GHETTO RIGHT NOW!

Looks awesome dude. I was trying to figure out if thats what those extra tubes were for until I saw the pic with the jack.
Wait just one minute there buster...
From the time we're babies learning to crawl, you're taught that you can't put a square peg in a round hole. Well.. you've just blown that philosophy right out of the water.
I hope you're happy.

Nice additions I have been debating including a jacking system into my roll structure as well

Yes, I am still running the B18C(R). There is still a lot of room for power increases with the motor, a phone call to Hytech is in the works, and we can now go Toda ITB's with the fuel management very easily, and the fuel system can now handle anything we can throw at it....we found the stock sytem leaning out to much at the top end.

It actually came with the car when I bought it, but it is made out of two sheets of flat ABS plastic that is 1/4" thick. there is the vertical part that you can see, and it is attached to a flat peice using small 90 deg angle brackets. It is only held on with the rivets along it's top edge.
It is actually VERY functional. In fact it is tooo functional. The lip used to stick out much further (about 4") but it severely hampered top end speed at Mosport. In fact, we were much quicker without it. Mosport is a high speed track (avg 145 km/hr, top speed ~210 km/hr) , so areo drag can really hurt lap times.
This year, the rules were changed for my series, and the lip can no longer extend beyond the front bumper, so we have what you see now.

Not really, but we did kinda put it around the CofG. We can easily lift up the front and rear wheels about evenly with the new jacking point.
Makes it very easy when we want to work on it, just jack it up and slide a jack stand under the front and rear jacking points.
We used to have to remove the front bumper in order to jack the car up and put it on jackstands, due to the large flat undertray under the front bumper. (we could not get to the front jacking point)

That's what I love about this forum, every question gets answered so thoroughly. Looking good btw, I love this car!

not to say you are wrong, but are you sure about that? is it possible that the wing was the culprit and not the front lip?
i cant imagine the lip (the vertical extension of the bumper) having much negative effect on top end speed.
also, you say it used to stick out further. are you talking about the splitter? im confused.
i could see the wing limiting your top end speed, but that lip, or air dam, o whatever you choose to call it shouldnt hurt much. what kind of margin are we talking about here?
not trying to be an ***, im seriously wondering.

The front splitter used to stick out about 4" beyond where it is now. When running the bumper like that, you could feel the car aero stall around the 190-200 mark. After removing the front splitter it was noticably better. It seemed to push through the aero stall speed much easier. This was all without changing the rear wing.
We will see how it feels with the new version of the splitter next Friday at Mosport.

Just as a heads-up, if it's legal for your class, I'd advise looking into some different ITBs. The All-Motor forum guys know a ton about it, and the Toda ones for sure are not the best, or cheapest. They'd probably suggest Jenvey or TWM, both of which can be better and can be found cheaper

How did you go racing in the first place without that roof bar and diagnol
Also wouldn't the wing be more functional if the endplates didn't have holes in it?
Nice jack points!
