Default need info on the OBD0 SOHC ZC

I'm a little frustrated right now having searched a bunch of forums for information on this engine, specifically, what year make model it comes from in Japan. Tons of info on the DOHC, a little bit on the OBD1 SOHC ZC Vtec, OBD2 and D15B engines, but none on this engine.

Previous owner swapped this non-VTEC SOHC OBD0 "ZC" motor into my 90 Civic Si. Then a lady hit my car, and the insurance is trying to assess it's value. They want info about the motor to prove that it's a low mileage JDM swap as opposed to the factory 200+k motor. I don't have any documentation, but they're willing to give me an estimated mileage around 75k or so if I can prove that the only way to get a ZC motor is to get it shipped from Japan.

I'm going to direct them to call a CA Smog Ref, Honda, and/or an engine importer, but I need the specifics so that they aren't given info on a DOHC or some other motor by mistake. I swear I've seen this info online but I haven't found it in the past hour. I'm pretty sure it didn't come in a Civic, CRX, or Integra.

What year, make, and model does this engine come from? Thanks.

The motor's basically a D16A6 with a handful of more horsepower. Arguably the best engine starting point for our cars, and no one knows anything?

JDM CRX SiR's came with b16's, so no.

can u look on the block and give us the engine code?

a lot easier to search if u have the engine code.

if it says ZC, maybe they did a OBd1-obd0 conversion.

They came in the 88-91 (over there it 87-90 I beleive) Civic Si with SOHC, not the DOHC. The engine is a 120hp 1.6L. Exact same as a D16A6, only has better cam, I think like .2 better CR too.

You are better off calling these guys:

And ask them info about this engine in the link. Phone number at bottom of link I gave you.

Block says "ZC". Unless you're referring to the string of numbers below that.

Wow, thanks for all the great info!
